Installation Considerations
Water Pressure
Large rain heads require adequate water pressure and flow rate to perform correctly. We assess your home's water pressure and recommend the appropriate head size and flow rating.
Ceiling Height
Ceiling-mount rain heads work best in showers with 8-foot or higher ceilings. We evaluate your shower dimensions and recommend the optimal mounting height.
Supply Line Routing
Ceiling-mount systems require supply lines routed through the ceiling or wall framing. We plan the routing during the rough-in phase to minimize visible piping.
Thermostatic Control
We recommend pairing overhead systems with a thermostatic valve for precise temperature control and the ability to pre-heat the shower before stepping in.

Can I add a ceiling rain head to my existing shower?
In many cases, yes. We assess your existing rough-in, ceiling structure, and water pressure to determine feasibility and plan the installation. Some modifications to supply lines and ceiling framing may be required.
What size rain head do you recommend?
For most showers, a 10"–12" round or square head provides excellent coverage. Larger heads (16"–24") are available for oversized showers but require higher flow rates.
Do down shower systems use more water?
Large rain heads can use more water than standard heads. We can recommend WaterSense-certified options that deliver a satisfying experience while meeting California's water efficiency requirements.
